I received an Alberta Foundation for the Arts literary grant in the amount of $14,300 to write a magical realism novel commemorating the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. Over the next 18 months I'll be traveling to Japan, connecting with locals, and collaborating with the local Edmonton-Japanese community. Stay tuned!
